Woolton Landscapes Permeable Paving
With the recent announcement by the government that from the 1st Oct 2008 the permitted development rights for the domestic front gardens have been changed.
The government has announced:
Planning is now required to lay traditional impermeable driveways that allow uncontrolled run of rainwater from front gardens onto roads, because this can contribute to flooding and pollution of water courses.
You will not require planning permission if a new driveway or parking area is constructed using a permeable block paving product such as Marshalls Tegula Priora or Marshalls Grassguard.
You will not require planning permission if the rainwater is able to run off and soak into the ground through soft landscaping such as grass or border planting.
To the side and rear of the house there are no restrictions on the area of land you can cover with hard surfaces at or near ground level.
